Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager with inpatient experience for a day shift contract, requiring an active MD or Compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an inpatient hospital setting on the Case Management unitManage an average daily census of 15 casesResponsibilities include providing and coordinating medical home care, placement, and social services for discharge planningDay shift, 5x8 hour days with 8 : 00 or 8 : 30am start timesHoliday coverage required as neededTravelers are first to float within the hospital as needed and must be comfortable floating within their scopeCoordinate and manage patient care for safe and effective discharges including wrap-around servicesFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionMandatory hospital orientation modules must be completed prior to startingReturn travelers must have been away for at least 6 months; former staff must be gone for 12 months before returning as travelersMost locations allow one contract extension before a six-month break from the facility is requiredRTO requests must be included at the time of initial consideration and cannot exceed 7 days; if more than 4 consecutive days, additional week may be added to contractBlock schedule or schedule restrictions will not be accommodated\n \n Requirements\n
Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years of inpatient case management experiencePreferred experience with Epic EMRTwo professional references from most recent employers required; at least one must be a supervisor or manager and the other may be a charge RNCPI certification may be required depending on the unitAmerican Heart Association BLS required; ACLS and PALS if unit-specificNRP certification required if applicable for the unitPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
