Job Description : Birkwood Village of Fort Madison is seeking a highly motivated RN to join our team as an Assistant Director of Nursing. The Assistant Director of Nursing will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to our residents. If you are a dynamic and compassionate nursing professional with leadership skills, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.

Responsibilities :

  • Clinical Leadership :

Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to oversee and coordinate clinical operations.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and nursing practices.
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
  • Staff Management :

    • Supervise and support nursing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for professional development.
  • Assist in recruitment, orientation, and ongoing training of nursing personnel.
  • Patient Care :

    • Monitor and assess the quality of patient care, ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort.

  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Address and resolve patient and family concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
  • Education and Training :

    • Provide educational opportunities for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

    • Qualifications :

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Iowa license.
  • Minimum 5 years of long term care nursing experience, preferably with leadership or management experience.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and healthcare best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including electronic health record systems.
  • Will be required to rotate call every fourth weekend.
