Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Location : South Charleston, WV 25309 (West Virginia healthcare jobs)

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / CVICU

Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 28 / 2025 – End : 1 / 27 / 2026)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts (Day / Night), variable schedule with rotating weekends and holiday commitment

Charting System : EPIC

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2050-$2200

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (or willingness to obtain West Virginia RN license)

1-2 years of recent critical care experience in Cardiac Stepdown or CVICU

Previous travel nursing experience required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)

Experience with CRRT, Impella, and IABP devices

TNCC certification preferred

Proficient in titrating and managing cardiac drips (Dopamine, Levophed, Vaso, Dobutamine, Argatroban, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Lasix)

Strong skills in cardiac strip interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions

Monitor and manage invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic devices

Titrate and administer cardiac medications and drips according to protocols

Collaborate with hospitalists, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Float to ICU and Stepdown units as needed

Participate in unit orientation, ongoing skills assessments, and maintain compliance with hospital policies

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health record system

Adhere to hospital dress code (Navy scrubs, closed-toed shoes, solid color undershirts)
