Labor Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Technician responsible for inspecting, weighing, sorting, and sampling raw, in-process, and finished baked goods to ensure compliance with customer specifications and food safety standards.
Pay Rate : $20.00 / hr
Training Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 : 30 p.m. (Must be open to weekend shifts as needed)
Training Period : Typically, 1–2 months, depending on candidate performance
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Enforce adherence to all food safety and quality standards
Follow sanitation and personal safety requirements
Inspect, weigh, sort, measure, and sample products for conformance
Record inspection data (weights, measurements, temperatures, quantities)
Maintain receiving and shipping documentation related to quality
Monitor critical control points (e.g., metal detection)
Report and investigate foreign object issues
Conduct daily quality control audits at established intervals
Monitor and control ongoing processes
Perform temperature control checks and verify inspection tools
Label products as accepted, rejected, or on hold
Communicate production issues to supervisors promptly
Discard or hold non-conforming products
Collect samples for testing when required
Document test results, recommendations, and corrective actions
Compare product attributes (color, shape, texture) to standards
Assist in training new personnel and fill in for absent technicians
Support receiving department with raw material inspections
Maintain clean, organized work areas
Foster positive communication across all levels
Minimum Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in food quality
Familiarity with food safety standards
Organized, accurate, and goal-oriented with strong follow-through
Proficient with documentation, analysis, and reporting
Quick learner and proactive problem solver
Collaborative mindset—works well across departments
Effective at giving and receiving directions
Basic to intermediate computer proficiency
Comfortable working in environments with allergens
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Education & Experience
High school diploma
3–5 years of experience in a similar role
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in allergen-prone environments
Capable of performing under hot, humid, and cold conditions
Physical agility required : reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, rapid hand movement, crouching
Prolonged standing in a fast-paced environment
