The City of Prescott Department of Public Works is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and collaborative professional for the City's Wastewater Treatment Division, in the position of Utility Worker. Under general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Operations Supervisor and / or senior staff, the Utility Worker supports assignments in the City's Wastewater Treatment Facilities. The successful candidate will possess excellent physical and technical skills to support team goals and objectives.
Essential Duties :
Primary duties incorporate teamwork to support the operation and maintenance of wastewater facilities by performing buildings and grounds maintenance, e.g. mowing & trimming, painting, landscaping and custodial workAssisting staff with plant operations; including sample collection, reading instruments, and hosing & cleaning tanksAssisting maintenance specialists and performing preventive maintenance on plant equipment such as greasing and changing oilAssisting the effluent delivery operator and fulfilling those duties when neededOther duties as assignedQualifications :
Education and / or Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent is required. The ideal candidate will possess wastewater experience or a minimum of one (1) year related experience either in construction or construction maintenance, facilities operation & maintenance, buildings and grounds maintenance and mechanical equipment operation & maintenance. A valid Arizona Class D Driver's License is required at time of hire. Must possess an Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification or be able to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
