Duties :
Under the administrative direction of the Director of, Testing Services, the Testing Associate, is responsible for all aspects of administering and monitoring exams and reporting exam results. The Testing Assistant is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
Essential duties / responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned :
- Administer and / or assist with all exams offered in the Testing Center, and as assigned.
- Obtain certification to administer various exams, including but not limited to Certiport, Accuplacer, and other exam programs as they may require proctor certification; Assist Testing with administration of specialized certification exams.
- Responsible for all aspects of exam administration including MV rules and guidelines governing eligibility for testing and handling of exam results; exam vendor processes and policies; all technology-related aspects of administering and monitoring exams and reporting exam results.
- Develop a strong understanding of exam security, demonstrate best security practices consistently, and serve as a staff leader in ensuring adherence to best practices; monitor all exams being administered and take appropriate action according to established Testing Center guidelines.
- Develop a strong understanding of FERPA and information security, demonstrate best information security practices, and serve as a staff leader in ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Greet students, faculty, community members and other visitors in a courteous and professional manner; efficiently determine each visitor’s needs and provide information, services and / or directions as appropriate.
- Assist MVCC faculty members with submission of course exams according to established Testing Center guidelines and procedures; log incoming exam submissions according to established Testing Center procedures
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of system issues relative to and all testing platforms; coordinate resolution with Information Technology or test vendors
- Make outgoing calls and answer incoming telephone calls and emails to departmental accounts in a timely, courteous and professional manner to answer questions and facilitate timely completion of placement testing.
- Assist with group testing events as directed by supervisors; group testing events may occur on campus or at off-campus locations as determined by the Director and / or Coordinator.
- Perform clerical duties including but not limited to accurate filing of exam-related materials, storing and archiving documents, preparation of student handouts, and other clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors; adhering and supporting safety best practices as outlined by college and department guidelines.
Education / Experience :
High School diploma, GED / high school equivalency required. Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in education, counseling, psychology and / or related appropriate field preferred. A minimum of one to two (1-2) years’ experience in higher education is required. Experience in Testing preferred.

Excellent personal, written and oral communication skills. Frequent interaction with Moraine Valley and high school, faculty / staff, administrators, students and parents.Ability to work well with people across the campus and MVCC high school district.Excellent organizational skills with attention to details.Previous experience working with high school students a plus.Proficient use of computer technology and MS Office to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.Ability to obtain and maintain certification to administer various exams.Must have a track record demonstrating dedication to the college core values of diversity, equity, responsibility, fairness, integrity, and inclusion.Position Status : Part Time
Hours : 20-25 hours per week
General Hours :
Wednesdays 2 : 00 pm – 8 : 30 pm
Thursdays 2 : 00 pm – 8 : 30 pm
Fridays 12 : 30pm- 5 : 00 pm
Saturdays 9 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm
Please note : Shift hours for this position may change or be adjusted.
Must be able to work Saturdays and evenings.
Salary / Wage :
$15.97-$23.00 / hour, plus PT benefit eligible
