Job description

Data Architect / Analyst

This position will provide data architecture / analysis / visualization skills to support both the insurance and provider operations units and leads research efforts to drive innovation / growth aimed at meeting or surpassing the Company's multiyear growth plan.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Development and ownership of primary reporting semantic models and data flows, leading to efficient and best practice reporting capabilities.
  • Collaboration with operational leaders to ensure alignment between data systems, internal / external reporting, and business processes.
  • Evaluating data processes, documentation, metrics, and data sets to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for data integration and business intelligence solutions.
  • Lead meetings and prepare presentations, reports, and dashboards for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Serve as a problem solver, provide recommendations, and implement change to drive business intelligence initiatives.
  • Analyzes a wide variety of data to derive insights by using various platforms such as, PowerBI, SQL Server, Cloud datasets, and other internal / external systems
  • Works directly with internal and business partner associates, to identify requirements of system improvements and business impact
  • Writes queries to pull / summarize / analyze data from various data sets and platforms.
  • Developing, designing, and defining strategic reports / dashboards comprised of KPIs created from data sourced from multiple systems.
  • Full immersion in understanding all business line levers and how to capture and interpret key metrics. Build and execute against expertise and knowledge to continually refine and reiterate these metrics.
  • Determining data access and overall management create standards for what data is used and how we use it.
  • Using BI tools (PowerBI specifically) to design and share visual representations of complex data and messages.
  • Translating key KPIs into actionable insights by analyzing their operational and financial implications, and recommend strategic adaptations to optimize performance.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your
  • Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information; always abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA / BS in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics or similar fields.
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL, or other database systems ie. Access, Oracle, Mongo, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis and data visualization using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, QlickView, etc.
  • Experience in assessing complex data sets, identifying trends and generating insights
  • Demonstrated passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences through data-driven insights.
  • Experience with the end-to-end analytics process, from data preparation through issue resolution.
  • Experience with monitoring, metric review, and data validation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with experience communicating technical results to Senior Leadership.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; detailed and well organized.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and proficiency working in Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated collaboration across organizational teams.
  • Experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with a variety of tools.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis environments such as Python, SAS, and / or R.
  • An understanding of both structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience applying statistical concepts to real-world applications.
  • 1+ years' experience in healthcare related data ie. Provider, Insurance, Membership, etc. preferred
  • Project management / process management experience in BI / analytics projects.
