Position Summary :
The school counselor works with the Principal and school leadership team(s) in carrying out the school's guidance and counseling program, which is based on the American School Counseling Association model. As a professional educator with a mental health perspective, the counselor understands and responds to the needs of a diverse student population. The counselor provides proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to support the students' social emotional development, academic achievement and career preparation. The school counselor may be assigned at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
License Requirement :
Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Oregon School Counseling License.

Salary :
A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
Retirement Contribution :
North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
