The Dr Pepper Museum Creative Services Manager is responsible for the creative direction, production, and visual identity of the Museum. This position leads the development of print, digital, retail, exhibit, and branded materials that serve the Museum’s mission, programs, and audience of over 260,000 annual visitors.
This is an in-person role based at the Museum's downtown Waco location. The Creative Services Manager is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the Director of Marketing and Development. This position qualifies for benefits and is exempt from overtime pay.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide creative leadership and hands-on design support for Museum-wide projects, including marketing materials, donor communications, digital content, retail packaging, exhibit graphics, and internal signage
- Ensure brand consistency across all visual touchpoints, maintaining high-quality standards and alignment with Museum identity
- Collaborate with marketing, retail, visitor experience, education, and development departments to prioritize and manage a high volume of design projects
- Develop visual assets that support fundraising, sponsorship recognition, and storytelling
- Design signage and graphics for exhibits, events, experiences, and retail
- Create and maintain brand guidelines for internal and external use
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
CREATIVE & DESIGN MANAGEMENT
Manage and execute a range of design projects from concept to delivery, including advertisements, signage, packaging, merchandise art, newsletters, annual report, and social media graphicsMaintain an organized digital asset library, including vector art, product mockups, and exhibit filesDevelop unique identities and graphic packages for annual events such as Birthday Bash, 10-2-4 Day, Collectors Convention, and Dr Pepper ChristmasCreate original branding for the 10-2-4 Club membership program and design visuals for emerging programs and campaignsRedesign and maintain branded collateral for the Museum Store and Soda Fountain, including product tags, drink menus, and merchandise displaysEXHIBIT & ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Design exhibit graphics, wall wraps, temporary signage, and large-scale visual installationsOversee directional and informational signage across all buildings, including outdoor clings and AMBC wayfindingProvide timely and mission-aligned designs for rotating exhibits, pop-ups, and donor recognitionsCreate vector and original artwork for Museum Store merchandiseAssist with product photography and packaging designDevelop graphics for seasonal products, gift sets, and special edition itemsINTERNAL & DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
Produce graphics for donor and sponsor materials, thank-you notes, banners, and fundraising appealsCreate consistent internal signage and branded templates for staff useAssist with print production and vendor coordination for specialty materialsOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain high standards of visual quality and timelinessProvide creative support for Museum initiatives, including education, outreach, and employee recognitionStay current with design trends, tools, and museum industry best practicesOther design and operational duties as assignedMINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, and 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably in an in-house or nonprofitExpertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines across departmentsStrong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling, branding, and print / digital designExcellent organizational, communication, and time management skillsUnderstanding of design for print production, signage, packaging, and merchandiseAbility to adapt visual styles across different formats and audiencesInitiative to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organizationAvailability to work evenings and weekends for events as neededEMPLOYMENT SCREENING AND COMPLIANCE
