Responsibilities Work in an LDRP unit caring for both mothers and newborns Small department with approximately 100 births annually and a mix of routine and high-risk cases 1 : 1-2 nurse-to-patient ratios Day shifts : 3x12 hours, 7 : 00 am - 7 : 00 pm Required to float to MedSurg, as CNA, secretary, or helping hands, including to affiliate hospitals as needed Weekend shift frequency based on department needs Uses Centricity and Meditech Magic for documentation Responsibilities include comprehensive care for mothers and newborns in an LDRP setting, including high-risk cases Travelers must be comfortable with floating, autonomy, and may assist in a variety of unit roles Navy blue scrubs required Unit accepts first-time travelers Former staff must have separated for at least 12 months and require facility rehire approval No RTO allowed during the first week; up to 7 days RTO may be approved if not falling on a holiday Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment Candidates living under 50 miles from the facility may receive a lower local rate Mandatory completion of pre-assignment modules (8-10 hours), as well as annual retraining Fatigue policy limits work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week Travel pairs permitted but must be assigned to different units Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required at time of start Minimum of 2 years Labor and Delivery RN experience Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, AWHONN, and NRP required Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring Strong clinical autonomy and ability to manage higher acuity cases independently Previous experience with Centricity and Meditech Magic EMR preferred Two manager or supervisor references from the past 12 months are preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630516.
