Job Summary :
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in production. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve existing processes, develop new manufacturing methods, and support the introduction of new products. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Design & Improvement :
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Design and develop new manufacturing processes and workflows to optimize production.Conduct time studies and process evaluations to establish baseline performance metrics.Project Management :Lead projects focused on process optimization, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
Collaborate with production teams to implement changes and ensure successful integration into existing operations.Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope.Quality Assurance :Develop and implement quality control procedures and process documentation to ensure product quality.
Work closely with quality assurance teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing defects and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.Technical Support :Provide technical support to production teams, addressing issues related to equipment, tooling, and processes.
Train operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.Cost Reduction :Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment that can enhance manufacturing capabilities and reduce costs.Documentation & Reporting :Maintain accurate records of process changes, improvements, and performance metrics.
Prepare reports and presentations on project progress, process improvements, and performance outcomes for management review.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.Qualifications
Education :Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience :3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field, preferably in a [specific industry, e.g., automotive, aerospace, electronics].
Experience with process design, optimization, and project management.Skills :Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality improvement tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.Licenses & Certifications :Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent .
