Job Overview Maintenance Manager oversees the day‑to‑day functions of mechanics, bus washers, utility workers, and administrative staff, ensuring maintenance of equipment on a three‑shift basis to meet DOT, client, and company standards. Location: Merced, CA (supporting Merced County). Key Responsibilities Hire, train, and schedule Maintenance Technicians Approve priority of maintenance and repairs based on available materials, parts, and scheduled operations Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside vendors Ensure company and client equipment is maintained and operating efficiently Manage inventory Implement safety policies and procedures per corporate requirements Participate in development and administration of the operational budget Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods Perform other duties as required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Valid CDL Class B (preferred) with passenger and airbrake endorsements 7+ years of experience in repair and maintenance of heavy‑duty automotive and transit equipment 3+ years of supervisory experience Broad understanding of mechanical systems related to heavy‑duty transit vehicles Familiarity with laws and regulations governing safe operation of maintenance facilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excellent written and oral communication skills Availability to work shifts and flexible schedules as needed Subject to DOT drug testing and physical DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason Physical Requirements Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed Long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments Benefits Competitive compensation package of $105,000 – $130,000 Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 12 days (8 standard, 4 floating) 401(k) retirement plan Medical, dental, and vision coverage Life insurance Short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability Additional standard benefits per company policy Equal Employment Opportunity Transdev is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
