The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Support Team is responsible for processing incoming financial record release requests/subpoenas to patients, data entry of hospital account PHI, copy service vendors and/or attorneys according to UC guidelines and PFS policies and procedures. Understanding of UCSDMC HIPPA guidelines and record retention rules and regulations. Working knowledge of various billing documents, claim forms and release of records forms. Understanding of basic accounting.
Working knowledge of various hospital financial records and patient medical records insurance billing claim forms and release of patient records. Basic understanding of Customer Service Principles in a hospital Revenue Cycle setting. Triage and route incoming calls to appropriate team members. Provide back up and support to other positions releasing hospital financial records and/or patient medical records in accordance with UCSD release of records policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year previous experience with financial records. Experience in a large complex healthcare organization.
Entry level knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook, Epic experience.
Current/previous experience in a hospital revenue cycle setting
Data entry, mail sorting and delivery, scanning, faxing and mailing patient.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $54,037 - $67,171 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.88 - $32.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
