About Us :
Trueline Brands is a national live entertainment brand helmed by Michael Grozier, co-founder of the House of Blues, that is focused on building multi-use music venues in ascending markets throughout the US. Our flagship location, Trueline Greenville, is a new music and entertainment venue in downtown Greenville featuring a 1,700 capacity state of the art concert hall, 400 capacity intimate performance room, member’s club and more. The venue will be open daily and we will book national touring artists, local and regional bands, curated events and community celebrations.
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Accounting to oversee the financial operations of both our music venue(s) and the parent company. This role is responsible for managing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls across multiple business units. The ideal candidate has a strong background in both corporate and operational finance, ideally within the live entertainment, hospitality, or venue management industries.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversight & Reporting
- Lead and manage all accounting operations for the music venue(s) and parent entity, including general ledger, AR / AP, payroll, and month-end close
- Oversee insurance, including the binding of annual policies
- Track capex projects - target timelines, spending vs budget, and payment schedules
Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local, state, and federal lawsMaintain and enhance internal control processes across all entitiesOversee tax preparation, audits, and regulatory filings in coordination with external CPAs and legal counselCash Management & Treasury
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and intercompany transactionsMonitor venue-specific financial performance (ticketing, bar, concessions, rentals, etc.)Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategiesTeam Leadership & Development
Supervise and mentor any future team members in accounting departmentFoster collaboration across departments including operations, marketing, legal, and HRImplement financial systems improvements and upgrades as neededQualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)5+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience; at least 2 years in a Accounting Manager or similar leadership roleDeep understanding of venue-specific revenue streams and cost structuresProven ability to lead and develop finance teams across multiple locationsProficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and ExcelExcellent communication, analytical, and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.A passion for live music, events, and the entertainment industry is a plus!Compensation & Benefits :
