Responsibilities include emergent and routine medication administration, rapid sequence intubation (RSI), interpretation of lab results, advanced airway management (including medication-facilitated and non-medication-facilitated intubation, surgical airway procedures, and thoracostomy), establishing IV and IO access, performing cardioversion and defibrillation, initiating and managing external pacing, titrating continuous IV medications, and monitoring blood transfusions. All practices adhere to the standards set by the medical director and comply with State and Federal Paramedic Practice Laws. Additionally, this role involves participating in leadership meetings and collaborating with the Program Manager / Director on managing ground unit operations, scheduling, and evaluating ground paramedics, in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
