- Develop and maintain a comprehensive care plan for patients in the progressive care unit, incorporating their individual needs, medical history, and treatment goals.\n
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, and overall condition.\n
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and proper documentation.\n
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, promptly recognizing and responding to any abnormalities or changes in patients' conditions.\n
- Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated and effective patient care.\n
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.\n
- Assist with various medical procedures, including wound care, line insertion, and patient transfers.\n
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.\n
- Adhere to all infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.\n\nRequirements of the Travel PCU Nurse : \n
- Active RN license (Kentucky or Compact State)\n
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n
- Minimum of 2 years' recent PCU experience\n
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, and critical care medications.\n
