Law Fellow (Office of General Counsel) at National Education Association. This position is part of the NEA Office of General Counsel and starts in Fall 2026. The Fellowship is for one year, with the option to extend for one additional year upon mutual agreement. The Office hosts between three and four Law Fellows each year.

Responsibilities
The NEA Law Fellowship offers the opportunity for recent law school graduates to work on a wide variety of litigation and advocacy projects to advance the cause of public education and the interests of educators and students. Fellows work collaboratively within a legal team of over a dozen attorneys. The Fellowship encompasses work across areas including schooling issues, labor policy, and education-related litigation and advocacy. Fellows may participate in hearings, meetings, events, and strategy discussions with NEA lawyers and colleagues in law firms across the country. Law Fellows are typically based at NEA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Salary starts at $80,000 per year. Fellows receive a generous benefits package including medical and dental insurance and paid time off.
