Job Description

As a Security Guard - Retail Patrols Unarmed in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. Your presence will support loss prevention efforts while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. You will be visible throughout the location, assisting guests and responding to situations as they arise. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, property damage, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, management, and / or local authorities as needed during incidents or routine operations.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and / or other unwanted behaviors within the retail environment.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possession of a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
