Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized and passionate student to join our battery team. In this role, you will be working exclusively with the cell testing team to generate insight into the battery performance for VTOL electric aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are looking to expand this team with like-minded individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and experiments on different batteries using cycling equipment
• Occasionally complete cell teardowns for materials investigation
• Conduct experiments or measurements for individual cells to characterize physical and electrochemical properties
• Develop methods and tools to analyze data sets and communicate the key findings to multidisciplinary teams for product development
• Work closely with the following teams :
• Equipment design team to facilitate project equipment requirements
• Data Science team to consume and produce findings from large data sets
• Lab Technicians to facilitate lab functions, operation, experiment setup, and monitoring

Relocation Assistance : This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $23-33.25 / hr. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and / or Ph.D. degree is $5,550-$8,200 / month. Individual pay is determined by internship role, department, experience, job-related skills, and level of education.
