Located in downtown Fresno, Community Regional Medical Center is the region’s flagship hospital and home to the only Level I Trauma Center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. As a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) on our cardiac surgery team, you’ll be part of a 40-member team — including three RNFAs — supporting procedures across Community Regional, Clovis Community, and Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital.
Provide intraoperative support under the direct supervision of the surgeon, assisting with surgical exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to ensure optimal outcomes.Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons and multidisciplinary teams on more than 100 cardiac surgery cases each month, helping uphold excellence, sterile technique, and evidence-based best practices.Function as a Scrub or Circulating Nurse when not serving as RNFA, maintaining readiness to assist with cases across all three campuses.Contribute to operational efficiency by anticipating surgeon and patient needs while fostering a culture of safety, precision, and teamwork.Join the largest healthcare system in the Central Valley, where your expertise helps advance cardiac care and improve outcomes for patients across the region.

Qualifications :
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Physiology, Healthcare or related field requiredSuccessful completion of an RNFA program that meets the Association of Perioperative RN (AORN) standards requiredCredentialed by the CHS Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform RN First Assistant standardized procedures required1 year of relevant experience requiredLicenses and Certifications
RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California requiredBLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) requiredACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into positionCNOR - Certified Operating Room Nurse from the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) requiredDisclaimers :
