Sandstone of Tucson is looking for a dedicated Staff Development / Wound Nurse to join our leadership team. This dual-focused role ensures our staff receive ongoing training and that residents receive exceptional wound care aligned with clinical best practices.
What You’ll Do
Staff Development Responsibilities
Oversee onboarding and orientation for new clinical staff.
Develop, schedule, and facilitate ongoing in-service training and competency checks.
Ensure compliance with state and federal training requirements.
Partner with department leaders to identify staff education needs and performance gaps.
Maintain accurate training records and competency files.
Wound Care Responsibilities
Conduct wound assessments and provide evidence-based wound treatment.
Monitor healing progress, document findings, and update care plans.
Collaborate with providers, therapy, and nursing staff on wound prevention and treatment strategies.
Lead facility-wide pressure injury prevention initiatives.
Educate staff on proper skin care, turning schedules, and wound-related protocols.
What We’re Looking For
Active AZ RN or LPN license (required).
Experience in staff development, education, or wound care in a skilled nursing / long-term care setting preferred.
Strong communication and teaching skills .
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CMS, state survey guidelines, infection control).
