Description :

Great opportunity for a physical therapist.

The physical therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength.

Hold a license as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment.

Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary.

Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.

Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files.

Guide and monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up.

Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care.

Communicate with physicians and other personnel to ensure quality patient care.

Correspond with co-workers and other offices via phone, fax, and email.

Be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.

Ensure patients are comfortable and answer questions when necessary.

Work closely with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up.

Have computer skills necessary to complete job requirements including typing, Word processing, Internet, and EMR.

Make independent decisions regarding patient care.

Be involved in the business marketing and referral process when necessary.

Follow HIPAA policies and procedures.

Familiarity with billing policies and procedures for various insurance types.

Be physically mobile, including a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for an 8-10 hour workday, based on patient care schedule.

Supervisory Responsibility : This position supervises PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care.

Work Environment : This position works in a patient physical therapy clinic in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.

The physical demands include walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving continually during working hours.

The position involves lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheelchairs, and supporting patients.

Constant alertness for patient safety is required.

No travel is expected for this position.

Preferred education includes continuing education courses.

Must hold an active license or plan to test to obtain one as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment.

Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Comply with OSHA and federal and state regulations.
