We’re partnering with a school district in Hartford County, Connecticut to hire a dedicated School Social Worker for the 2025–2026 school year . This in-person position supports PreK–2 students who have experienced trauma and require additional emotional and behavioral support to succeed in school.
The School Social Worker will provide direct and indirect social-emotional and behavioral support to students in grades PreK–2, with a focus on those impacted by trauma or significant life stressors. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to create safe, nurturing environments that promote emotional regulation, resilience, and academic success.

Responsibilities
Provide individual and small-group counseling to students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.Implement trauma-informed interventions and strategies to support emotional regulation and coping skills.Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop classroom plans and supports for students impacted by trauma.Conduct functional assessments and participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and behavior plans as needed.Engage families and caregivers in supportive partnerships to strengthen the home-school connection.Provide crisis intervention and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program (required).Valid Connecticut School Social Worker certification (071 endorsement) (required).Experience providing trauma-informed support to young children in school or clinical settings preferred.Strong knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, and special education processes.Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering positive student outcomes.What We Offer
