Associate Vice President of Practice Management
JOB SUMMARY
Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of Provider Practice Management and ensures policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs. Has overall responsibility for all aspects of Provider Practice Managements financial and operational performance and is accountable to communicate and implement hospital strategic initiatives to meet goals and objectives. Responsible to the company at all levels to assist in the integration of physicians / providers into the delivery system. Strives for superior performance by consistently providing a product or service to leadership and staff that is recognized as ultimately contributing to the patient and family experience. Recognizes and demonstrates understanding of patient and family centered care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guides the development and deployment of best practice processes before developing, marketing existing practices and hospital departments and more effectively ramping new service lines and practices.
- Manages the execution of practices and departmental development plans within for MMA.
- In support of service line development plans, ensures each practice and department has the facilities and equipment required in order to achieve stated service, quality and patient satisfaction targets.
- Works with practice and department leaders to address any operations performance factors serving as barriers to the achievement of service line objectives.
- Manages provider employment process, contract, compensation and renewals in accordance with Memorial Healthcare standards and requirements.
- Supervises leads and develops MMA Practice Managers to oversee day-to-day operations of the employed provider practices.
- Develops and implements specific programs, products, and services to support the long-range strategic direction for the employed provider practices and departments.
- Assists with due diligence for Employed Practice acquisitions, coordinates findings with team members, identifies operational requirements and opportunities to incorporate post acquisition; assist with financial monitoring.
- Serves as communication liaison with Hospital Management, Provider Services, and practices.
- Oversees the coordination of operational start-up for new service lines and practices with Hospital and Provider Practice Management staff.
- Monitors provider employment agreements for providers s and contract provisions, updates, and revisions.
- Oversight and collaboration with practice management team, department leaders and provides assistance in determining appropriate operational needs.
- Conducts departmental and on-site practice visits to meet with providers and staff.
- Provides recommendations for operational changes and ensures implementation and adherence.
- Coordinates the preparation of the annual Practice Management operational and capital budgets; participates in the ongoing evaluation of the allocation of funds and expenses.
- Ensures that the departments and Practice Management Service Lines are positioned to optimize the performance of the EMR with goals to improve quality, clinical outcomes, and productivity.
- Focuses on continuous quality improvement and patient safety issues.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
DEPARTMENTAL AND ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist other MH leadership with the development of provider employment agreements.

EDUCATION
Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Public Health Administration preferred.EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five years of experience managing provider practices and ten years of experience in healthcare management.Ten or more years of progressive leadership and management experience in health care administration, preferably in a multi-specialty group practice with multi-site responsibility.In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of medical practice management and administration in large hospital setting.PI0bd9905d1030-30511-39085471
