Description :

Pre-screen unit - Candidates will be reviewed by clinical staff to determine clinical fit.

If clinical requirements are met and within guidelines, candidates will be sent to the manager for a final decision.

Clinical screens will be conducted on a case-by-case basis.

Manager will conduct interviews.

The ICU is a 10-bed unit providing care to critically ill and postoperative patients.

Patients include those recovering from cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgical procedures aged 18 and older.

Procedures and care provided include invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and advanced cardiac life support.

Additional skills required include management of pacemakers, IABP, CRRT, VAD, and ECMO.

Candidates could care for patients requiring complex interventions and monitoring.

All candidates must be prepared to work a maximum of 7 days of requested time off.

Working every other weekend is a requirement during the contract duration.

Candidates will be expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays and may float to all ICU and medical-surgical floors if needed.

The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Patients served in the unit may include those with various cardiac diagnoses and will often involve bedside procedures.

Familiarity with COVID-19 protocols is essential, and the facility is tobacco and fragrance-free.

Candidates are encouraged to notify leadership of any specific preferences prior to submission.
