Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kotlin / Java Engineer to join our Voice & AI Engineering team. This team builds the backend systems that power millions of voice commands every day across our global entertainment and smart home ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and enhance backend microservices that drive voice-based content discovery and intelligent device interactions.
  • Build scalable, resilient systems capable of processing millions of daily requests with low latency.
  • Collaborate closely with NLP / ML teams to integrate AI-driven capabilities into production workloads.
  • Serve as a technical expert for internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth integration across multiple backend systems.
  • Lead architectural discussions, contribute to system design, and deliver best-in-class engineering solutions.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, including a deep understanding of JVM internals.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot or similar JVM frameworks.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining microservices at scale.
  • Expertise in building RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Strong understanding of Kotlin coroutines, asynchronous programming, and reactive frameworks (e.g., WebFlux).
  • Solid experience with Git, CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and scalable deployment pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Redis, DynamoDB, or similar).
  • Familiarity with search platforms such as Elasticsearch.
  • Strong debugging and performance tuning skills for JVM-based applications.
