Responsibilities Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital setting Unit assignment determined by facility based on clinical evaluation and need Night shifts (3x12 hours, 6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM); 4x12 available on request Contracts available from 14 to 52 weeks, with flexible start dates Current nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5 with a goal of 1 : 4 Travelers are required to float within their scope and acuity as needed Epic EMR experience is required Completion of required modules and Epic training during orientation is compensated according to facility policy All travelers are required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, and two holidays during winter (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's) Christmas holiday time off requests cannot be approved Previous employees must be gone for at least one year before returning as travelers Travelers may not return after 365 total days on assignment; exceptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis Scrub color and dress code will be provided during onboarding Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the AHA Previous experience working in a PCU setting is necessary Epic EMR experience is required Two professional references required for consideration Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; exceptions apply for limited assignments within 50-99.9 miles and less than 50 miles with eligibility restrictions Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640605.
