Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical\n\nLocation\n\nNot specified\n\nAssignment Duration\n\nThis is a 13-week contract position.\n\nSchedule\n\nNight shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18 : 30 - 07 : 00).\n\nJob Description\n\nThe Medical Surgical Nurse will provide patient care for adults and geriatrics on a busy 8th-floor Med / Surg unit. The nurse will manage a patient load of 1 : 6 and will be responsible for various medical / surgical patients, including stroke and surgical patients, and will work closely with interdisciplinary support teams.\n\nResponsibilities\n

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical and surgical patients.\n
• Administer medications and monitor patient conditions.\n
• Manage and care for IV therapy and blood products.\n
• Conduct regular assessments and document patient histories and care plans using Epic.\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services.\n
• Participate in the Rapid Response and Code teams when necessary.\n
• Float to other areas as needed and cover weekend shifts as requested.\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical / Surgical nursing.\n
• Certified in BLS and NIHSS (preferred).\n
• CPI certification preferred.\n
• Experience with IV therapy, peripheral line care, and management.\n
• Familiarity with respiratory care and gastrointestinal management is preferred.\n
