What this position is responsible for
This position is responsible for :
- Assists in the procuring of program funds for social services programs; researches funding sources and writes grant proposals to secure funds; ensures grant proposals are completed in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and submit grant proposals to foundations and corporate sources.Prepare and distribute formal correspondence to grant providers including letters of inquiry, formal grant proposals, cover letters, thank you letters, reports and progress and program evaluation reports.Research prospective corporate and foundation funding sources; evaluate and prioritize funding prospects.Ensure grant proposals are completed in a timely manner and forwarded to the appropriate department / source within the required time frame.Strategize and make grants acquisition recommendations.Track, record, and report on grants acquisition progress.Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation / corporate donors.Update and maintain files on funders (grant makers), proposals submitted, and potential grant makers.Communicate, by phone, e-mail and surface mail, with Corporate and Foundation funding sources.Coordinate proposal / funding strategy with Program Directors and personnel.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures and physical discomforts associated with traveling by vehicle and / or airplane.Employee Benefits

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Social Services, Communications, Business Administration or a related field ANDThree years experience preparing business documents, ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Seniority level
