Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence and dignity while ensuring their safety and well-being. This role involves working closely with individuals in various settings, assisting them with daily living activities, and fostering a supportive environment.
Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met in a respectful manner.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor patient health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Support meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met according to individual preferences and restrictions.
- Facilitate community engagement and participation in social activities to promote inclusion.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Educate clients about their rights as residents and advocate for their needs.
- Assist with heavy lifting as necessary to support clients in mobility or transportation.
- Provide care for individuals with dementia, employing appropriate techniques for communication and engagement.
Qualifications
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.Must be able to pass a background check through the Family Care & Safety RegistryMust have a valid driver's license and vehicle insuranceMust be over the age of 18Required to have a high school diploma, or equivalentScheduling
