JOB DESCRIPTION.

Inclusion aides are responsible for the day-to-day supervision and inclusion of their assigned child(ren). This position is the go to person if there is a child who could benefit from an adaptation to instructional materials to enhance the student’s performance.

We are currently looking for part-time candidates to join schools throughout San Diego.

JOB COMPLEXITY.

Develop and implement behavior support and intervention plans and modeling specialized strategies and techniques

Develop, implement and model social skill development techniques, including social stories, peer facilitation, and peer training

Assist in developing and implementing de-escalation strategies to assist or support with student development

Assist in the preparation and adaptation of instruction materials to enhance student performance in the program

Provide Site Director with enrichment program ideas focusing on the inclusion of the assigned child(ren)

Provide assigned child(ren) assistance with academic homework

Ability to work in the capacity of a Youth Leader when specific children are not assigned

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES.

Must be 18 years of age

Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam ( a basic math and literacy exam )

Valid CPR and First Aid Certified required upon hire

Must have a minimum of 6 months experience with children with special needs AND elementary / middle school students (paid or unpaid) in any of the following settings : working, volunteering, or babysitting

Ability to travel throughout the county with the flexibility required to meet job duties

COMPENSATION.

• Starting Rate : $22.50 per hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience)
• P art Time benefits include voluntary benefits, a 403b retirement plan plus match, and CA Paid Sick Leave in addition to hands-on training, virtual courses, and live presentations.
