Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Workday OPAL Product Director to support our customer, a large government organization. This is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the strategy, direction, and execution of Workday Financials and Purchasing across a complex public sector environment. The Product Director will oversee a large team of professionals, ensuring that Workday is implemented, optimized, and continuously improved to support finance, procurement, and operational goals. This position requires deep Workday expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive product strategy within a large matrixed organization.
This position is full time and requires onsite presence in Philadelphia five days a week. The salary range is 135k to 160k based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the Workday Financials and Purchasing product roadmap
- Align Workday initiatives with organizational and stakeholder priorities
- Oversee the full Workday product lifecycle from planning through deployment
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Workday professionals
- Promote collaboration, communication, and alignment across all Workday workstreams
- Develop training and professional development programs for team growth
- Direct large scale Workday implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
- Ensure configurations, integrations, and reporting meet technical and regulatory standards
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, risks, and timelines
- Evaluate Workday releases and determine relevance for business and technical needs
- Drive system optimization to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and user experience
- Manage integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems
- Act as the subject matter expert for Workday Financials and Purchasing
- Oversee user training, documentation, and support resources
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and data privacy requirements
- Partner with IT and security teams to maintain data integrity and protect sensitive information
Requirements
Strong experience with Workday Financials, Purchasing, and related modulesProven ability to lead and develop large cross functional teamsDeep understanding of public sector finance, procurement, and compliance processesStrong project management and organizational skills with a focus on deliveryExcellent communication skills for engagement with senior leadership and usersExperience with Workday Studio, Integrations, and ReportingMinimum ten years managing financial systems, including five years in a leadership roleDemonstrated experience driving Workday product strategy within a complex organizationAbility to make data driven decisions and guide organizational changeBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related fieldPreferred Qualifications
