American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Nights Float Pool ICU position requiring AZ or compact license and ACLS / BLS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in a hospital acute care setting within the Staffing Resources Float PoolFloat pool coverage includes ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU units across two campusesPatient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, post-MI, post-Cardiac Cath, and post-op CABG patientsNurse : patient ratios are 1 : 4 in PCU and 1 : 5-6 in MedSurg TeleNight shift, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend requiredFloat first policy with scheduling managed by the float pool schedulerStandby may be required during excess staffing situations, with on-call for the scheduled 12-hour shiftCerner EMR is usedRNs titrate drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and InsulinResponsibilities include providing specialized care across critical care, telemetry, and stepdown units depending on float assignmentEach unit is supported with a charge nurse, who does not take direct patient assignments, and nurse aides are utilized throughout all settingsAll RNs must complete a hospital orientation and additional orientation shifts on the assigned unitsTesting on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is conducted during orientationTravelers participate in the holiday rotation with permanent staffNotification of daily assignments is given two hours before shift start via text from the staffing officeSolid professional scrubs are required; will transition to Navy scrubs per Dignity guidelines in OctoberBlock scheduling is not guaranteed, and flexibility is expected in covering both campuses\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of applicationMinimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ICU settingCurrent American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMust pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signingAbility to interpret monitor strips is requiredMust be comfortable managing a wide range of titratable dripsMust live at least 50 miles from the facilityCannot have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year\n Benefits\n
