The Associate Medical Director (AMD) is an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for the implementation and oversight of an integrated clinical practice delivery model. Directly supervises providers within their specialty and collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer and other Associate Medical Directors to ensure a high standard of quality care delivery across Premier Community HealthCare Group (PCHG). Provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population. Promote the adoption of clinical innovation and best practices to support a wide variety of operational activities. We strive to serve our community in establishing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic conditions. Our goal is to provide health promotion, prevent disease, and strive for healthy communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Through supervision and coordination with Chief Medical Officer (CMO), ensure the organization achieves all intended clinical outcomes, and demonstrates true leadership and best practices in the health care services offered.
  • Assist CMO in the supervision of the clinical activities of medical providers directly or by delegation.
  • Assist CMO with provider retention efforts including appropriate mentoring and on-boarding of new providers.
  • Participates in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- and long-range planning for specialty of oversight; develops tracking and evaluation programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
  • Collaborate with Premier Community HealthCare Group leadership team in ongoing management planning and decision making.
  • Collaborate with the Training and Development team to build plans for providers to deliver quality care, efficient services and exceptional customer service.
  • Participates in clinical privileging, appointment and re-appointment of medical staff
  • Serves as back-up to Chief Medical Officer as needed
  • Collaborates with all levels of leadership in the delivery of quality patient care, maintenance of clinical documentation, integration of electronic health records, and handling of complaints and / or medical emergencies.
  • Responsibilities include consulting and assisting senior leadership in identifying, managing and implementing process and quality improvement strategies and projects.
  • Develops process improvement plans which identify key issues, problems, solution approaches, performance metrics and resources required.
  • Participates in and actively adheres to patient care expectations to attain clinical goals set forth in Premier Community HealthCare Group Health Care Plans and the Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI / QA) program.
  • Ensure all front office support meet or exceed all financial and patient services goals according to organizational policy and regulatory standards.
  • Understand the future workforce needs and create development plans for growth. Understand capabilities and talent on team to drive organizational performance.
  • Build talent capabilities to drive organizational performance.
  • Promotes a diverse workforce to foster inclusiveness and a sense of purpose and belonging. Builds trust and creates a psychologically safe environment for the care team to speak up.
  • Attend organizational events, be able to discuss ways to support giving & promote Premier. Be visible within the community and lead employee give back initiatives. Partner with community engagement department on metrics and opportunities to promote organizational advancement.
  • Coach and mentor others towards excellence, inspire and motivate others, manage difficult conversations and performance concerns.
  • Promotes service to others and coaches CTMs on providing accessible healthcare for all and maintaining service excellence
  • Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
  • Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupt timely patient flow through site.
  • Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience
  • Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI / QA)
  • Other duties as assigned

    • S upervisory responsibilities :   Direct supervisory responsibility, including the day-to-day operations and the annual performance evaluation may be delegated by the CMO. Indirectly manage and supervise non-clinical personnel as delegated.

  • Proficient understanding of specialty’s area of responsibility
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with care team members to understand culture, support change management and build effective communication plans
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities that have broad based impact on clinical performance and growth.

  • Effectively communicate with C-Suite executives and multiple levels of the organizations verbally and in writing. Ability to manage large scale change management plans and major projects.
  • Prepares content for monthly board reports and attends Board of Director meetings as requested.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to influence others and have effective conflict management skills.
  • Ability to generate excitement and energy around the Premier’s, mission and activities and cultivate provider engagement
  • Ability to influence and inspire. Utilizes facts, research, and trends to discuss solutions for better outcomes.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and adaptive to individual styles and levels of leadership. Ability to address complex topics that are highly emotional, reserve judgement / reaction and seek to understand prior to deciding.
  • Ability to identify risks involved and make quick decisions when needed.
  • Ability to trend and forecast needs and have a strategic mindset to effectively solution.

    • Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an approved medical school
  • Board certified or eligible in appropriate discipline
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida
  • Ten (10) years proven successful experience as a practicing clinician.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience with healthcare information system, such as electronic health record (EHR)
  • Experience in a multiple provider medical practice
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a federal and state narcotic registration
  • Eligible for hospital privileges
  • Obtain and maintain Epic certification / annual compliance training throughout employment.
