Overview
Performs, or is capable of performing, all of the clerical duties in the department.Performs duties relating to supervision and direction of clerical and transport personnel.Performs clerical functions assuring smooth operation of computer and other retrieval systems.Responsibilities
Answers telephone and schedules appointments as necessary.Check patient CT / MRI schedule first thing in the morning for additions or changes.If there are outside comparison films, they are to be given to the CT / MRI department.Reviews schedules 1 week in advance.Maintains, stocks and rotates linen and supplies.Greet patients in the waiting area and accompany to CT / MRI and explain procedure.Prepares and delivers barium as necessary.Starts IV's when necessary.Review's contrast questionnaire, medication reconciliation and other necessary paperwork with patients as they arrive to expedite and maintain schedule.Alert technologist if any answers require investigation.Make sure consent form is signed.Transport or escort patients back to the floor or lobby assisting patients as necessary.Develop and collate films for reading by the radiologist.Answer telephone and follow through on calls.Cross train for all office duties.Check out or copy films for other facilities according to designated procedure.Handles equipment in a responsible, professional manner.Responsible for maintaining cleanliness / organization of area assigned.Cooperate in a positive and professional manner in assisting department personnel as required.Set a positive and professional atmosphere for patients.Other duties. Assist in MRI as needed. TAP, PAC Scan, check old reports and follow department Code of Conduct.Qualifications and Requirements :
Background in Radiology and medical terminologyMinimum 2 years of clerical experience (medical field preferred)Proficient in computer and word processingAbility to lift patients up to 50 lbsStrong office management and communication skills
