Sr Director of CA Policy Campaigns

Overview

Scion Nonprofit Staffing is thrilled to partner on an immediate search for a Senior Director of California Campaigns for an $18M national membership nonprofit dedicated to the protection and advancement of reproductive freedom through grassroots organizing, electoral change, and political advocacy. The Senior Director of California Campaigns must reside in California (preferably in the Bay Area or Northern California) and will work in a hybrid capacity, from home, with in-person events, and travel primarily throughout California as needed.

The Role : Reporting to the Director of State Campaigns, the Senior Director of California Campaigns must be a go-getter with a positive attitude, strategic mindset, and ability to see the larger mission. The Senior Director will lead the California chapter and establish a strong political and organizing program across the state. This role is responsible for designing and implementing campaign strategy, managing programs, and overseeing day-to-day operations. The Senior Director will lead California Organizers and guide efforts to grow membership, particularly among young people and communities of color, while engaging current supporters and mobilizing key constituencies to protect and expand reproductive rights at the state level. The individual in this role will design and execute organizing strategies and tactics that align with the organization’s mission and goals. The Senior Director will also serve as a visible, inclusive, and strategic leader in statewide relationship-building, participating in coalition work, collaborating with partner organizations, engaging donors, and working alongside elected officials. The Senior Director of California Campaigns must be a subject matter expert and confident reporting to a supportive manager who is not a California expert.

The Senior Director will support and collaborate with multiple teams to advance the organization’s mission in California and beyond.
