Job description

Overview

Certification Engineer III role at RECARO Aircraft Seating. The position involves coordinating with the internal program team, installers, suppliers, FAA, EASA and designees to research, plan, and execute large and small scale certification programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute certification programs.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of applicable CFR and CS 21, 23 and 25 regulations.
  • Work independently with FAA / EASA designees to develop cert basis and certification plans without supervision.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies (FAA / EASA / Other) for coordination and approvals.
  • Liaison with airlines, FAA / EASA and suppliers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date certification records.
  • Develop tools to track deliverables, testing, and compliance findings to assure on-time project completion.
  • Provide Risk Management reviews, surface issues in real time, and assess risk impact.
  • Coordinate testing and adherence to schedule to support final certification.
  • Aid in developing standardization of certification procedures.
  • Liaise with industry working groups for rule making.
  • Follow company internal processes.
  • Train / Mentor new engineers in compliance finding.
  • Support quoting and work scope for new business and forecast capacity needs.
  • Approval of TSO / ETSO compliance documents.

Qualifications

Education / Experience : A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, preferably in Aerospace / Mechanical or other engineering, with at least 6 years' experience in aircraft interior products, or a Master's degree in Engineering with at least 4 years' experience in aircraft interior products.

Technical Skills And Experience Requirements :

  • Aircraft Interior certification experience in TSO / ETSO product testing is required.
  • Strong Project Management skills related to certification with the ability to establish and maintain schedules across multiple suppliers or projects.
  • Risk Management skills; ability to review current issues / program status, identify and manage project risks, and apply expertise in certification and testing to problem solve.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, sense of urgency, and attention to deadlines.
  • Ability to work within or lead teams when required.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and track multiple projects.
  • Ability to work with domestic and international regulatory compliance offices and build good working relationships.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry guidance and develop new means of compliance when applicable.
  • Prior experience in a technical leadership role is desired.
  • Experience in CATIA V4 or V5 or similar programs is preferred.
  • Experience in MS Office products is required.
  • Experience using matrix parts lists with high variant diversity in SAP is desired.
