Golf Shop Starter

The Los Amigos Golf Course in Downey, CA has available a part-time, entry level position as a Golf Shop Starter. The golf shop starters primary objective is to properly check-in golfers onto the tee sheet, handles all cash according to policies, and ensure that tee times stay on time by managing the first tee. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who wants to be part of a team while developing their own leadership skills. This position has the opportunity for upward mobility with starting pay at $15.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Handles all cash according to policies

Ensures proper handling of guest onto tee sheet

Punctuality mandatory, be able to open course as early as 5AM

Ensure that tee times stay on time by managing starter and first tee

Ability to multi task

Must maintain a friendly, positive attitude and a professional demeanor always.

Must maintain personal hygiene and well-groomed appearance standards

Answer and direct all incoming calls, take messages and deliver when appropriate

Greet and direct all visitors; ask all players to sign in

Aware of green fee prices throughout the day and changes throughout the year

Inform players of course conditions

Communicates and works with co-workers and cart attendants

Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests

Must be outgoing and detail oriented

Customer service experience

Maintains a constant presence in the pro shop

Empties trash throughout the Pro Shop and Pro Shop offices daily

Dust pro shop, clean, stock, ensure all surfaces and displays are clean and attractive

Basic golf knowledge required

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements :

• MUST
• have prior knowledge and / or skills in the game of golf.

Prior golf shop experience preferred.

At least 1-year prior experience in cash-handling occupation.
