Title : Radiographer

Location : West Bloomfield, MI 48322

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Midnight | 4x10-hour shifts (9 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) | Every other weekend

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the Radiographer performs diagnostic radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological conditions as ordered by physicians. Ensures accurate imaging, patient safety, and adherence to departmental protocols while maintaining professionalism and strong patient communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, explaining steps clearly.
  • Perform radiographic exams using Siemens and Carestream technology.
  • Operate C-arms and portable X-ray units in the Emergency Room (ER) and other hospital areas.
  • Administer IV contrast media when required and monitor patient response.
  • Adhere to radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Ensure image quality, completeness, and accuracy within PACS and RIS systems.
  • Maintain sterile environments, manage equipment, and follow infection control standards.
  • Assist in orientation or training of new hires or students as assigned.
  • Demonstrate core values : communication, teamwork, ownership, and respect.

    • Minimum Requirements

  • Education : High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience : Minimum 1 year of recent Radiography experience; trauma or ER background preferred.

    • Certifications :

  • ARRT-R (Radiography) – required or registry eligible (must obtain within 6 months)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
  • Technology : Proficiency with Siemens and Carestream imaging systems preferred.
  • Environment : Must be able to work in ER, OR, and inpatient settings with mobile and fixed units.

  • Strong background in trauma imaging, portable X-rays, and C-arm operation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage fast-paced ER workflow and prioritize patient care
