Summary :

The Pharmacy Technician will function in a training capacity, working alongside a trainer / mentor while completing their job responsibilities in their respective pharmacy practice area. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and the care team in the storage, distribution, preparation, and handling of medications within MaineHealth. The Pharmacy Technician will only perform competencies that they have completed in their knowledge-based courses and on the job training and are qualified to perform alongside a technician trainer / mentor or pharmacist.

This position plays a key role in supporting safe and efficient medication use across our critical access hospital. Responsibilities include inventory management, medication distribution, and obtaining medication histories from patients to support clinical care. A strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and attention to detail is essential.The technician will also have the opportunity to participate in sterile compounding after completing additional training. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad hospital pharmacy experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. License / Certifications : Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician.

3. Experience : None required

4. Additional Skills / Requirements Required : Proficient computer skills

5. Additional Skills / Requirements Preferred : NA
