Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder to assist with a backlog in a Central Los Angeles primary care office. The candidate will work on-site for 4-6 weeks, supporting healthcare reporting needs and ensuring coding accuracy for audit readiness.

Responsibilities / Job Duties

  • Review medical records and identify accurate diagnoses.
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM codes in compliance with CMS guidelines.
  • Support risk adjustment reporting.
  • Ensure coding accuracy for audit readiness.

Skills

  • Strong background in Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding.
  • Proficiency in reviewing medical records.
  • Ability to comply with CMS guidelines.

    • Schedule / Shift

  • Mon, Tues : 9 to 5

    • Wed - Sat : 9-12 (Saturday hours aren't expected, but could be worked)

    Qualifications

  • CPC / CPCA (Ahima not needed)
  • Aprima experience.
  • Experience with HCC coding / Primary Care procedures.
  • Medicare / Value Based payment knowledge (ICD-10 codes)
