Hours : Ability to work up to 900 hours within a six month period. The selected candidate will work under the supervision on weekdays between the hours of 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with at least a 30-min unpaid lunch addition some evening / weekend hours may be required for special events special assignments programs classes or activities.
THE POSITION
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a detail-oriented creative and collaborative professional to join our team as a Recreation Services Coordinator II Administration and Marketing . This position will play a key role in supporting the implementation of new recreation software and assisting with administrative and marketing initiatives across the Library and Recreation Services Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recreation software systems event and program coordination content creation and public outreachhelping ensure smooth operations and effective communication throughout the Division.
Definition
Under general supervision of a Recreation Services Manager plans coordinates monitors and leads community recreation arts and community services programs services and facilities for an assigned program area; and performs related work as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
(May include but are not limited to the following) :
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires prolonged sitting standing walking reaching twisting turning kneeling bending squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard. Additionally the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal customer service. The need to lift drag and push files paper books and documents weighing up to 100 pounds is also required. Some duties require incumbents to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way :
A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in recreation / leisure arts administration hospitality management human services public administration business administration or a related field; AND
Three years of experience similar to a Recreation Services Coordinator I with the City of Sunnyvale.
