About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - NICU
Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Specialty : RRT-NICU
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Night
Hours per Shift : 12 hours
Experience : Minimum of 2 years in a related field
License : State license must be in hand prior to start date
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NBRC
Must-Have :
Travelers must be agreeable to the shift.
All requests must be provided upon submission.
First-time travelers accepted.
COVID & flu vaccines required.
Description :
Travelers will float between NICU, PEDS acute care, and adult acute care.
Airway management and medication administration are required.
Ventilator management, ABG analysis, oxygen therapy, and suctioning are essential skills.
Travelers should have recent NICU experience and be willing to float to the adult population.
Coverage includes attending high-risk deliveries.
Experience with trauma, teaching hospitals, and ER settings is preferred.
Familiarity with documentation systems such as Cerner is a plus.
Equipment knowledge including Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 is beneficial.
Candidates should possess skills in adult critical care and pediatric care.
Must have experience with the following procedures :
Direct intubation, extubation, and neonatal transports.
Interpretation of arterial blood gases is required.
Candidates must be able to assess and manage respiratory distress syndrome.
Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting high-pressure alarms are necessary.
Applicants should be familiar with various respiratory treatments and medications.
Flexibility in scheduling and working weekends is expected.
