Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking skilled Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in an educational setting located in Katy, TX. This contract position spans the full school year and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students learning and independence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments across all grade levels K-12.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and educational standards.
  • Utilize adaptive teaching methods and specialized materials to enhance accessibility.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress and inclusion.
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and remend appropriate assistive technologies.
  • Advocate for students' needs and promote awareness of visual impairments within the school munity.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Certification or licensure in Visual Impairment or related endorsement.
  • Experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in K-12 settings.
  • Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies.
  • Excellent munication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning needs and facilitate inclusive education.
