Telemetry RN Job Details

Location : Wichita, KS 67214 (Kansas nursing jobs)

Facility Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Telemetry

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 22 / 2025 – End : 3 / 23 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit Size : 14 beds

Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Staffing : Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)

EMR System : Meditech

Scheduling : Every other weekend required; must be willing to float to other hospital units

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470-$1570

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact state)

BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all RN travel jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Proficient in medication drips, central lines, and heart catheterization recovery

Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Positive, patient-centered approach to nursing care

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions using advanced telemetry equipment

Administer medications, manage IVs, chest tubes, and other drains as part of clinical support

Document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR system

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care

Float to other hospital units as needed to support overall staffing needs

Provide compassionate, patient-focused care and support to patients and their families
