A company is looking for a Technical Controller to provide strategic oversight and technical accounting expertise for startups.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare GAAP financial statements and conduct technical reviews on complex accounting positions
Draft and implement accounting policies and build internal control frameworks for startups
Serve as the primary contact for founders, leading them through institutional audits and managing external firm relationships
Required Qualifications
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably as an Audit Manager at a regional or national firm
Exceptional command of U.S. GAAP and ability to document complex technical positions independently
CPA preferred, emphasizing technical reporting and audit-readiness
Advanced proficiency in asynchronous communication tools and managing multiple client deadlines
Expert-level knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero
