Schedule Details: Nights, 8 and 12-hour shifts, every third weekend rotation with holiday rotation.
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for 3rd Shift

Unit Overview:
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit where you'll care for a diverse and complex patient population, including:
- Post-operative craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections.
- Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.
- Patients with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.
- A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery cases, along with medical overflow patients.
As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), our unit provides exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care.
- Apply clinical judgment, skilled communication, and critical thinking to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience throughout the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan individualized interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness.
- Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and respond promptly.
- Implement patient safety strategies and assess readiness to learn.
- Coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach.
- Promote collaboration among healthcare team members and delegate appropriately.
Required Licensure and Certification:
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.
- Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to provide holistic patient care with a focus on patient and family.
- Proficient computer skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to make critical, independent decisions, with strong organization and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and patients as necessary.
- Capable of performing various tasks requiring mobility throughout the workday.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials; protective gear will be provided.
