We're currently seeking motivated applicants for the position of Dental Assistant 1 or 2 in our School of Dentistry Oral Surgery Department at our Baton Rouge location. Core competencies include : Communicating effectively : The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas. Focusing on Customers : The ability to serve the needs of those who support and / or rely on the services provided. Following Policies and Procedures : The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
Minimum Qualifications : One year of experience or training as a dental assistant or dental hygienist.

Appointment Type : Classified Probational Career Progression : This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. Work Schedule : Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined. Compensation : There is a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $15.05 per hour for the Dental Assistant 2 title and $14.06 for the Dental Assistant 1 title with an additional $2.25 per hour worked available for candidates that hold a current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification. This position does not require applicants to take a Civil Service test. Pre-employment Drug testing and Criminal Background check are required. This position will require selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months.
