American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position requiring home health experience and a valid state OT license in Pinellas County.
Responsibilities
Home health position serving adult patients in Pinellas CountyPatients include med / surg, cardiac, orthopedic, post-surgical, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, neurological, trauma, and moreDaily caseload typically consists of 6 to 8 skilled home visitsWork involves ADL training, cardiac rehab, edema massage, feeding, splinting, prosthetics / orthotics, standardized assessments, joint mobilization, and home exercise program managementUtilizes BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, Ace Timesheet documentation systemDay shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8 : 00 to 17 : 00Cerner charting experience preferredUse of laptop, MiFi for internet, and portable printers providedSelf-scheduling based on HomeCare office needsProvide evaluation, care planning, patient / family education, safety and injury prevention for diverse adult home health populationsResponsibilities include documentation and billing using specialized systemsTeam support provided and interdisciplinary collaboration requiredDay-to-day work includes phone consultation and family trainingSolid color scrubs are requiredNo scheduled RTO requests accepted during the contract; time off must be negotiated with the unit managerFacility is smoke freeAllied staff home health modules must be completed pre-start and annuallyPermanent employees must wait at least one year before returning as a travelerTravelers may float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as neededRequirements
Active Occupational Therapist state license or compact license required if applicableMinimum 1 year of independent home health OT experience required; 2 years preferredCurrent BLS certification requiredMust possess a valid driver's license and reliable car for home visitsCOVID vaccination required or exemption form on fileFlu vaccination required or declination with mandatory mask useOASIS experience preferredAbility to pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts)Compliance documents due at least 10 days before the start dateCandidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facilityBenefits
