This role involves performing a combination of administrative and transactional tasks to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities within the organization. The Associate Account Manager is often the first person that clients, carriers, and potential recruits meet, when they visit Haughn Insurance, which requires that they are courteous and attentive. They must have impeccable attention to detail and a willingness to proactively take on administrative duties ranging from taking calls, distributing mail, scheduling appointments, and helping with financial support. Associate Account Managers work closely with their senior team members, production staff, and clients throughout the year by gathering risk management data, preparing carrier submissions, assisting in negotiating the insurance contracts and premiums, and proactively communicating with clients while handling day-to-day service requests to ensure a great client experience. Additionally, Associate Account Managers are supported in continuing education through certifications and other learning opportunities. Associate Account Managers learn the business of risk management and insurance as they build strong overall business acumen that will move their career forward.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Associate or college preferred
  • At least 2 years of related experience required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous experience in administrative or financial support roles is preferred.
  • Experience with Applied Epic preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Answer and direct agency phone calls.
  • Handle a variety of insurance related tasks, such as preparing insurance certificates and driving records.
  • Handle all outgoing agency mail including addressing, postage, etc.
  • Assist senior team members in document preparation for clients and prospects.
  • Update client records and documents within the agency management system.
  • Sort and process all incoming mail according to agency processes.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Pursue professional development within the insurance industry
  • Supporting departments on an as needed basis with transactional work
  • Assist senior team members in handling insurance renewals
  • Prepare client deliverables with high attention to detail and professionalism
  • Organize and handle significant and sensitive client data in accordance with agency standards
  • Act as a critical liaison between insurance carriers and clients
